hi there! so here's my answer

\rm \tiny\color{green}t = (10)/(9) \\ \\ \tt \: in \: alternative \: form \\ \\ \color{yellow} \rm \: t = 1 (1)/(9) \: \: \: or \: \: t = 1.1

Explanation:

\color{gray} \tt \: 16 = 2( - 8t - 1) * (t - 2)

  • calculate the difference

\color{gray} \tt \: 16 = 2(- 9)(t - 2)

  • multiplying an odd number of negative terms makes the product negative

\color{gray} \tt \: 16=^ \ 2*9(t-2)

  • multiply the numbers

\color{gray} \tt \: 16=-18 (t-2)

  • distribute - 18 trough the parentheses

\color{gray} \tt \: 16 = - 18t + 36

  • move the variable to the left hand side and change its sign

\color{gray} \tt \:16+18t=36

  • move the constant to the right-hand side and change its sign

\color{gray} \tt \:18t=36-16

  • substract

\color{gray} \tt \:18t=20

  • by both sides of the equation by 18

\:\rm \tiny\color{green}t = (10)/(9) \\ \\ \tt \: in \: alternative \: form \\ \\ \color{yellow} \rm \: t = 1 (1)/(9) \: \: \: or \: \: t = 1.1

hope it helps
