Equation: y=3x -2

6-2= 4

16-4=12

12/4=3

Plug the one of the coordinates into the equation y=mx+b.

4=3(2)+b

4=6+b

-6 -6

-2=b

Hopefully I explained it well... :)

Answer:

Explanation:

(2,4) and (6,16)

y2 = 16, y1 = 4, x2 = 6 and x1 = 2

Slope m = {y2 - y1}/{x2 - x1}

m = {16 - 4}/{6 - 2}

m = 12/4

m = 3

The equation of line

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 4 = 3(x - 2)

y - 4 = 3x - 6

y = 3x - 6 + 4

y = 3x - 2
