What is the coefficient of x in the expression x+3y+2

every variable has a coefficient...although, sometimes it is not written but understood.

if u have a variable by itself, just know there is a 1 in front of it...even when it is not visible.

x + 3y + 2......this is the same as 1x + 3y + 2.....with the coefficient of x being 1.
