Anjali’s school is selling tickets to the annual dance competition on the first day of ticket sales the school sold 6 adult tickets and 8 student tickets for a total of $130 the school took in $90 on the second day by selling 2 adult tickets and 12 student tickets find the price of an adult ticket and the price of a student ticket

First, to solve this problem, you have to make two equations.

I would check to make sure it would work for both equations.

1st equation

6x+8y= 130$

2nd equation

2x+12y= 90$

x= adults

y= students

Solve For X on the second equation

2x=90-12y

x=45-6y

Then you plug x to the next equation

6(45-6y)+8y=130

270-36y+8y=130

-28y=-140

28y=140

y=5

If you plug that for the second equation, it will be:

2x+60=90

2x=30

x=15
