Answer:

The area of shaded region = 3x²+7x

Explanation:

Area of larger rectangle = (2x+5)(2x)

=> 4x²+10x

Area of smaller rectangle = (x+3)(x)

=> x²+3x

The area of shaded region = Area of larger rectangle - Area of smaller rectangle .

=> 4x²+10x - (x²+3x)

=> 4x²+10x -x²-3x

=> 3x²+7x

Answer:

  • 3x² + 7x

The shaded region is the difference of large and small rectangles.

The area is the difference of areas:

  • 2x(2x + 5) - x(x + 3) =
  • 4x² + 10x - x² - 3x =
  • 3x² + 7x
