Answer:

brick of pure silver is divided into 4 pieces of equal size. Compared to the original brick, the density of each piece is _____.

:- the same

Step-by-step explanation:

Density of the substance is the mass per unit volume of the substance.

Density =(mass)/(volume)

Let the original mass of the brick = m

let the volume of the brick = V

Density =(m)/(V)

when A brick of pure silver is divided into 4 pieces of equal size.Its mass become 1/4 time the original mass and volume also become 1/4

New mass = 1/4 m

Volume = 1/4 V

Density =(m/4)/(V/4)

4 and 4 cancel each other

Density =(m)/(V)

Hence, No change in density of the brick will occur if we divide into for equal pieces.

Such quantities are called Intensive properties .

Intensive property : Which does not depend on the quantity of the matter .example : Temperature , density ,specific Heat capacity.

There is no effect of change of either mass or volume on density.
