1.20b = 186

b = 186/1.20

b = 155

a + b = 180

a + 155 = 180

a = 180 - 155

a = 25

check...

a = 0.20b - 6

25 = 0.20(155) - 6

25 = 31 - 6

25 = 25 (correct)...it checks out
