(X-y)+(2x+y)=11+19
X-y+2x+y=30
X+2x=30
3x=30

X. =10

x - y = 11

2x + y = 19

adding the two equation

(x - y) + (2x + y) = 11 + 19

x + 2x + y - y = 30

3x = 30

X = 10

10 - y = 11

y = 10 - 11

Y = -1
