y = 32

Explanation:

Since the x in 4x is 8, you have to multiply 4 and 8 because the 4 and x in 4x are next to each other and it means you have to multiply them so the answer you should after multiplying 4 and 8 is 32. So y equals 32.

So if x is 8 and y=4x and you’re trying to find why put 4 and 8 next to each other like this :4(8) and you will get 32 and 32 =y or y=32
