Gwen and Bob hiked along a 12 mile trail that had markers posted every 1/8 mile. they hiked 4 3/8 miles and then stopped for lunch. how many markers will they pass after lunch when they finish the trail​

First, figure out how many miles they have left to hike. 12-4 3/8= 7 5/8
Next, divide 7 5/8 by 1/8 to see how many markers are in those last miles.
7 5/8 / 1/8 =61.
There are 61 more markers.
