Explanation:
2x-12=4
4+12 is equal to 16
16÷2 is equal to 8
Check
2×8-12=4
16-12=4

2x-12=4
put the 12 in place of y since they equal each other
2x=16
add 12 to both sides
x=8
divide both sides by 2
