We add equation (3) and (4)

3y = 1

y= 1/3

Now, substitute (y= 1/3) in equation 1

It becomes:

1/3 = x - 2

x = 1/3 + 2

Simplifying with a LCM of 3

x = (1 plus 6, all over 3)
