Incidence rate per 1,000 = A (No. of new cases of a disease occurring in the population during a specified period of time )/ B (No. of persons who are at risk of developing the disease during that period of time) -X 1,000

From the question..

A= 2.2% ×20000 + 50 = 490

B= 20000

Incidence rate = 490/ 20000 × 1000

= 24.5
