We want to graph the equation


y = 2x + 6

We can plot two points and draw a straight line through them.

The easiest points to plot are the intercepts.

When x=0, y=2*0+6=0+6=6

So we plot our first point (0,6)

When y=0, we have 0=2x+6


\implies \: 2x = - 6


x = - 3

We again plot (-3,0)

With a straight edge we draw a straight line through the two points to obtain the graph in the attachment.
