How can cells difffer in thier response to a hormone if they have the same receptor for that hormone

Answer:

Even the cells having the same receptors for a particular hormone can respond differently. A cell can have many receptors for a single hormone which can determine the specificity of the cell against any hormone. So difference in receptor number can result in differences in response in different cells having same receptor.

Apart from receptor number change in some receptor protein or the machinery coupled with the receptor is also responsible for different response of different cells having the same receptor for the same hormone.
