Pi is defined as the ratio of a circles circumference and its diameter. It is fundamental in finding the area of circles, area of spheres, area of cylinders, pretty much all type of geometry. In more advanced topics like calculus and field theories, it is again fundamental for the geometry involved. If pi would somehow "not exist" modern society would probably fail. Most modern physical theories rely on its existence
