Answer:

Tire required 14 rotations to travel 95 ft distance.

Explanation:

Given:

diameter of tire = 26 in

Distance to travel = 95 ft

We need to find number of rotations tire will take to travel 95 ft.

Solution:

Now the distance is in feet so we will first convert the diameter which is in inch to feet.

We know that;

1 inch = 0.08333 ft

26 inch = number of feet in 26 inch.

By using unitary method we get;

number of feet in 26 inch=
0.08333 * 26 \approx 2.17\ ft

So Diameter of tire = 2.17 ft

Now we know that Circumference of the tire is equal to distance travel in 1 rotation.

Circumference of the tire is given times 'π' times diameter 'd'.

framing in equation form we get;

Circumference of tire =
\pi d = \pi * 2.17 = 6.82 \ ft

Now we can say that Number of rotations required is equal to Distance to travel divided by distance travel in 1 rotation (Circumference).

Framing in equation form we get;

Number of rotations =
(95)/(6.82) = 13.93 \approx 14

Hence Tire requires 14 rotations to travel 95 ft distance.
