x would equal 2

I solved it the way that i was taught. You basically draw a line down the middle and try to get x by itself on one side and a number on the other, once that is done you divide it by the same number as x to get x by itself.

Answer:

x=2

Explanation:

add 3 to bother sides then subtract 2x from bother sides which leaves you with 5x=10 then divide 10 by 5 cause you divide bother sides by 5 which leaves you with 2
