−2(3x−5)=4(x+3)−8

Simplify

−2(3x−5) = 4(x+3) −8

(−2)(3x) + (−2)(−5) = (4)(x) + (4)(3) + −8 (Distribute)

−6x + 10 = 4x + 12 +− 8

−6x + 10 = (4x) + (12+−8)

−6x+10=4x+4

−6x+10=4x+4

Subtract 4x from both sides.

−6x+10−4x=4x+4−4x

−10x+10=4

Step 3: Subtract 10 from both sides.

−10x+10−10=4−10

−10x=−6

Step 4: Divide both sides by -10.

−10x

−10
