Take ln on both sides


ln(( 1 +(0.06)/(12))=ln 5

move the exponent 12t before ln as per log property


12tln(1 +(0.06)/(12))=ln 5

now divide the ln on both sides to make 12t alone


12t=(ln 5)/(ln(1 +(0.06)/(12)))

divide both sides on both sides


t=(ln 5)/(12ln(1 +(0.06)/(12)))

t=26.89
