For Example, Most people who are addicted to drugs know that drugs are bad for them. They just did it anyway in order to supress the psychological pain that they face in their life.

another example would be when people spend too much time playing mobile games even though they aware that they can spend their time studying for tomorrow's exam.

People who have high temprance, will be able to prevent themselves from succumbing to such negative actions. They are able to sustain a lot of discomfort and willing to sacrifice the things that they enjoy in order to achieve their goals
