Answer:

Therefore Surface Area of the Pyramid is 736 cm².

Explanation:

Given:

Square Pyramid,

Base = 16 cm = side of Square

Altitude of Triangular part = 15 cm

To Find:

Surface Area of the Pyramid = ?

Solution:

Surface Area of the Pyramid will be given as

\textrm{Surface Area of the Pyramid}=\textrm{Area of Square base}+4* \textrm{Area of Triangle}

Now for Area of Square,

\textrm{Area of Square base}=Base* Base

Substituting the values we get

\textrm{Area of Square base}=16* 16=256\ cm^(2)

Now for Area of Triangle we have,

\textrm{Area of the Triangle } = (1)/(2)* Base* Altitude

Substituting the values we get

\textrm{Area of the Triangle} = (1)/(2)* 16* 15=120\ cm^(2)

Now Substituting Area of Square and Area of the Triangle in Surface area we get,

\textrm{Surface Area of the Pyramid}=256+4* 120=736\ cm^(2)

Therefore Surface Area of the Pyramid is 736 cm².
