A salesperson works 40 hours per week at a job where he has two options for being paid. Option A is an hourly wage of ​$27. Option B is a commission rate of 5​% on weekly sales. How much does he need to sell this week to earn the same amount with the two​ options?

Answer: $12,500

Explanation:

Option A earnings=40*25=1,000

8/100x=1,000

.08x=1,000

x=1,000/.08

x=12,500

if he gets paid 27 an hr, he will make (40 * 27) = 1080

5% of weekly sales.....so for them to be equal, 5% of his weekly sales needs to equal 1080

let x be his weekly sales...and turn ur percent to a decimal

0.05x = 1080

x = 1080 / 0.05

x = 21,600 <== he would have to sell $ 21,600 worth of stuff
