Explanation:

Now 64 is bigger than 63, this 8/9 is bigger than 7/8. This is the general way. Now removing eight parts of the fraction, will still leave 1/9 left, which means that 1/8 > 1/9, and that 7/8 has a bigger bite taken than 8/9, and thus there is more left with 8/9 than 7/8.
