A little trick to easily see if things are divisible by 3 is to add the 2 numbers together.

For example with 71 if you add 7+1 you get 8. 8 is not divisible by 3.

However if you were looking at 81 you add 8+1 to get 9. 3×3=9 so 81 is divisible by 3.

By putting that into a calculator you can see that 81/3=27 and 71/3=23.6666...
