Now, finding total number of students in the class of Mr Rossi.

Total number of students=
number\ of\ boys+ number\ of\ girls

∴ Total number of students in the class=
8+12= 20\ students

Next finding the probability of having representative will be a girl.

Probability of having girl=
(Number\ of\ favorable\ outcome)/(Total\ number\ of\ outcomes)

⇒ Probability of having girl=
(12)/(20) = (3)/(5)

∴ Probability of having girl as a representative=
(3)/(5)

Converting the fraction into decimal, we will get 0.60 and in percentage, we will get 60%.
