What was the result of the three fifths compromise?

The Three Fifths compromise was made during the constitutional convention. The south wanted slaves to count as people when counting their population because they would get more representation this way. Obviously the north didn’t want this since they didn’t have that many slaves. So they made a compromise where every 5 slaves would count as 3 people when counting the population to figure out each states’ taxes and representation.

It made so that slaves were counted as three fifths of a person so the north and the south were happy because the north didn’t have much slavery but the south did because of plantations and with this compromise it makes so that whoever had slaves won’t have to pay that big of a tax for having that person rather than have a “normal person” or non slave person
