Explanation:

Each terminal bronchioles leads to alveoli which is surrounded by blood vessels. As we inhale the air the partial pressure of oxygen in the alveoli becomes high compared to the partial pressure of oxygen in the blood which results in the diffusion of oxygen from alveolar sac to the blood present in blood capillaries.

Blood in the capillaries surrounding the alveoli has a higher partial pressure of CO2 than the partial pressure in alveoli which results in the diffusion of CO2 into the alveoli from the blood. So bronchioles, alveoli, and blood vessels are involved in the diffusion of oxygen in the body and CO2 out.
