When one makes a social media post, what happens on other devices with the same app?

An alert appears on the other devices
A request appears on the other devices
Nothing
The post appears on the other devices

An alert if you have notifications on, it could be seen as a request from a certain point of view. I guess ‘nothing’ could be right since EVERY device with the same app wouldn’t get any notice. And “the post appears..” could be true if the apps on the other devices are open when posted and they refresh the feed.
