Ax + By = C is standard form

y - 6 = 1/2(x + 4)....distribute thru the parenthesis

y - 6 = 1/2x + 2 ....multiply by 2 to get rid of fractions

2y - 12 = x + 4.....add 12 to both sides

2y = x + 4 + 12

2y = x + 16....subtract x from both sides

-x + 2y = 16....multiply by -1 to make x positive

x - 2y = -16 <=== standard form
