The height of crate is 3 feet

Solution:

Given that Summer Dave builds a crate to hold vegetables

Volume of crate = 48 cubic feet

Base area of crate = 16 square feet

To find: height of crate

The crate is of shape cuboid

The volume of cuboid is given as:

volume = length * width * height

We know that,

Area\ of\ base = length * width

Therefore, volume becomes,

volume = base\ area * height

Substituting the given values we get,

48 = 16 * h\\\\h = (48)/(16)\\\\h = 3

Thus height of crate is 3 feet
