When French people count on their fingers, they start with their thumb for number one, index for two, middle finger for three, ring finger for four and pinky for five. The thumb is always used to show one, index for two etc... Americans use their index to start finger-counting or sometimes their pinky. How do you count on your fingers? Explain how different finger-counting is in your own country compared to France. Does one way make more sense than another? Use at least 4 sentences to explain the difference, 2 in English, 2 in French.

Answer:

The way I'd usually start counting is by starting with my index finger and ending with my thumb which is the opposite of the french way. The difference would be that the thumb in french is symbolized as the number 1 and its symbolized as the number five in america. Another difference would be that Americans count on their fingers more than one way were as the french do their counting in a specific order each time. Neither one of these countries makes more sense or is better than other at counting on their fingers its just a cultural difference.
