Use F = 1/T as your basis:

11. A tire has a tread pattern with a crevice every 2.00 cm. Each crevice makes a single vibration as the tire moves. What is the frequency of these vibrations if the car moves at 30.0 m/s?

The answer is 1.50 kHz but please show your work.

  • Velocity=30m/s

A crevice occurs at 2cm=0.02m

The car travels 30m a second .

Total crevices per second:-

  • 30/0.02=1500 crevices

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail \\u(Frequency)=(1)/(T)

Now

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail \\u=(1)/(1500s)

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail \\u=1500s^(-1)

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail \\u=1500Hz

\\ \rm\rightarrowtail \\u=1.5KHz
