Answer:

Explanation:

ratio of 2:1....total of 3....so caroline gets 2/3 of the money and sarah gets 1/3 of the money. Let the total amount of money be x.

so caroline = 2/3x and sarah = 1/3x

caroline gets 45 more then sarah

2/3x = 1/3x + 45

2/3x - 1/3x = 45

1/3x = 45

x = 45 * 3

x = 135.....so the total money is $ 135

caroline gets 2/3 of it.......2/3(135) = 270/3 = $ 90

sarah gets 1/3 of it......1/3(135) = 135/3 = $ 45 <===

Answer: 45

Explanation:

Since the ratio of their share is 2 : 1 , Let Sarah's share be x , then Caroline's share will be 2x.

Since Caroline gets 45 more than Sarah , then

2x = x + 45 ,

2x - x = 45

x = 45

This means that Sarah's share is 45 and Caroline's share will be 90
