Consider AC as a Line Segment such that A-B-C as shown in the Figure.


AC=AB+BC ..A-B-C......Line Addition Postulate

Substituting the values we get


3x+3=-1+2x+11\\\\3x-2x=10-3\\\\x=7

Therefore the Value of x is 7.
