Answer: 21.994 cm²

Explanation:

Area of the shaded region = Area of the bigger circle - the areas of the two smaller circles.

Formula for finding area of a circle = πr² where π is a constants . It has value of 22/7 or 3.142

Now area of the bigger circle = 3.142 x 3²

= 3.142 x 9

= 28.278 cm² Now are of the two smaller triangle = 3.142 x 1² x 2

= 6.284 cm².

Therefore are of the shaded region = 28.278 - 6.284

= 21.994 cm²
