Answer:

The length of the edge of the pool is 31.4 feet.

Explanation:

Given:

The circular pool covers about 78.5 square feet of lawn

To Find:

The length of the edge of the pool = ?

Solution:

The area of the circular pool = 78.5 square feet

\pi r^2 = 78.5

r^2 = (78.5)/(\pi)

r^2 = (78.5)/(3.14)

r^2 = 24.98

r^2 = 25

r = √(25)

r = 5 feet

Now the the length of the edge is the circumference of the circle

=>
2\pi r

=>
2* \pi * 5

=>
10 * \pi

=> 31.4 feet
