In 4 hours, the two coaches charge the same amount of money

Solution:

Given that Coach A is offering her services for an initial $5000 in addition to $450 per hour

Let "x" be the number of hours coach is offering her services

Therefore,

Coach A : initial charge + $ 450 per hour

Coach A : 5000 + 450x ---- eqn 1

Coach B is offering her services for an initial $4000 in addition to $700 per hour

Therefore,

Coach B : initial charge + $700 per hour

Coach B : 4000 + 700x ---- eqn 2

For the two coaches charge the same amount of money, equate eqn 1 and eqn 2

5000 + 450x = 4000 + 700x

5000 - 4000 = 700x - 450x

1000 = 250x

x = (1000)/(250) = 4

x = 4

Thus, in 4 hours, the two coaches charge the same amount of money
