x² - y² = 4

x² + y² = 4

・we can cancel out the y²'s since one is positive and the other is negative

2x² = 8

x² = 4

x = ±2 ( we use ± since squaring -2 or 2 would give us 4 )

・now find y by substituting into either one of the equations!

(±2)² + y² = 4

4 + y² = 4

y² = 0

・y = 0
