During the world war I, many women were given employment opportunities which made them serve for the country and also increase the social status.

Step-by-step explanation:

Nearly millions of women were given employment opportunities during the world war, as many young men were employed as soldiers who marched to the battle field to wage war. Out of patriotic fervor, many women came forward to extend their services for the sake of the country and conjointly it also helped then to become independent and thereby increase the social status in the society.

Suddenly, there were too many employment vacancies specially in the field of hospital nursing and industrial engineering. Women also faced some obstacles like unfair salaries given to then and hence there were also female trade unions which fought for the fair wages to be paid for the women.
