Answer:

The distance between points (- 8 , - 2) , ( - 7 , - 2) is 1 unit

Explanation:

Given as :

The coordinate are

x_1 ,
y_1 = - 8 , - 2

x_2 ,
y_2 = - 7 , - 2

Let The distance between the points = d

So, d =
\sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^(2) + (y_2 - y_1)^(2) }

Or, d =
\sqrt{((-7) - (-8))^(2) + ((-2) - (-2))^(2) }

Or, d =
\sqrt{(-7 + 8)^(2) + (- 2 + 2)^(2) }

Or, d =
\sqrt{(1)^(2) + (0)^(2) }

Or, d =
√(1 + 0)

∴ d =
√(1)

i.e d = 1

So, The distance between the points = d = 1 unit

Hence, The distance between points (- 8 , - 2) , ( - 7 , - 2) is 1 unit Answer
