The chromatography strip that you used in this activity was 8 cm long. If your chromatography strip was doubled in length (16cm), would be Rf values be the same or different? Why?

Answer:

It would be the same

Step-by-step explanation:

RF

It is the ratio of the distance moved by a compound at the mobile phase in contrast to the distance moved via the front of the mobile phase. It is usually more than or equivalent to zero, and not up to or equivalent to one.

The Rf values is going to be the same due to the fact that the Rf is a ratio and the ratio will remain the same irrespective of the length of the strip being used.
