Explanation: Displacement reaction is a reaction in which elements higher in the activity series displaces those lower in the activity series in a compound. For example, the reaction between zinc and hydrochloric acid.

Zn + 2HCl —> ZnCl2 + H2

Zn displaces H2 from acid because Zn is higher than hydrogen in the activity series.
