What does range mean in math?

Range means the difference between the maximum and the minimum of numbers.

Ex. 2,9,8,4,2,10,1,9

Maximum: 10

Minimum: 1

10 - 1 = 9

The range: 9

The highest data value minus the lowest value like for example a data set could be 2,5,9,12,1,5,7 and the highest is 12 and the lowest is 1 so you’d do 12-1 which would get you 11 as the range
