The United States has come a long war from the days of slavery and blatant, legalized racial discrimination, there are still a great number of obstacles that African Americans face in terms of social equality in the US, including when it comes to fair housing and fair employment opportunities--all things that stem from inequalities face immediately following the Civil War.
