Answer:

The solution is the point (18,0)

Explanation:

we have

y=-(1)/(3)x+6 -----> equation A

y=(1)/(3)x-6 -----> equation B

Solve the system by substitution

substitute equation B in equation A

(1)/(3)x-6=-(1)/(3)x+6

solve for x

Adds (1/3)x both sides

(1)/(3)x-6+(1)/(3)x=6

(2)/(3)x-6=6

Adds 6 both sides

(2)/(3)x=6+6

(2)/(3)x=12

x=12(3)/2\\x=18

Find the value of y

substitute the value of x in equation A or equation B

y=-(1)/(3)(18)+6=0

therefore

The solution is the point (18,0)
