Answer:

S(10/12,11/3)

the slope of FS=the slope of SG

Explanation:

1. Given ????(0, 2) and ????(2, 6), if point ???? lies 5 / 12 of the way along FG, closer to ???? than to ????, find the coordinates of ????.

Then verify that this point lies on FG.

F(0,2) ---------------------->(x1,y1)

G(2,6)-------------------------->(x2,y2)

S=5/12----------------------be the point P

The coordinates of S can be gotten by the formula

below

x1+P(x2-x1), y1+P(y2-y1)

find the coordinates of S

for x coordinates of S=0+5/12(2-0)

x=10/12

for y coordinate of S

y=2+5/12(6-2)

y=2+5/3

y=11/3

S(10/12,11/3)

b. the slope of FS=the slope of SG

Slope of a line is given below as

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

11/3-2/(10/12-0)=6-11/3/(2-10/12)

5/3/10/12=7/3/14/12

2=2

the slope of FS=SG
