The faithful adherent to Islam is known as Muslim or Muslim, and these terms also originate in the Arabic language. These words come from muslim, which means submissive, so within the Islamic faith, Muslim is one who is submissive to God, called Allah.
Islam, like Judaism and Christianity, is a monotheistic religion, that is, Muslims believe in the existence of only one God who, as we mentioned, is called by them Allah. These three beliefs are the three great monotheistic religions of the world.
Sikhism indicates that human beings are separated from God because they are egocentric. In the Sikh religion, haumai is the word for human egocentrism, and samsara means the cycle of rebirth in which human beings are trapped for being individualistic. Liberation is union with God, which is revealed to men by His grace, which is called swimming. According to the teachings of Guru Nanak, only the devoted recollection of the name "nam simaram" and the repetition of the name "nam japam" in murmurs allow the liberation of haumai and union with God.
