It is one of the reproductive strategy in which the living being i.e animals and plants are subjected to death after a single reproductive period.

  • As the semelparous being provides all of its resources to a single period of reproduction, as it gives birth to more then just one offspring in the single reproductive period during there life span. i.e It is followed by the salmon fish and other insect species.

In simple words, the organisms dies when it gives birth to there offspring in a single cycle of reproduction.

  • Iteroparity: During the iteoroparity the organism gives birth to there offspring multiple time in there life span.
