Answer: We need 741 street lights for a street that is 2 miles long .

Explanation:

We know that 1 mile = 5280 feet

Then, 2 miles = 2 x 5280 = 10560 feet

Given : Street lights are placed at most 150 feet apart.

Then, the number of intervals in 2 miles long street = 2 miles ÷ 150

=(10560 feet) ÷ 150

= 70.4 ≈ 70 [The distance between streets cannot be greater than 150 feet.]

If there are lights at each end of the street , then we need to starts from one end .

Total lights = Number of interval +1

=70+1 =71

Hence, we need 741 street lights for a street that is 2 miles long .
